I accept tried running the browser with add-ons disabled, and uninstalled/re-installed Firefox, but the trouble remained. Can anyone tell me what the trouble is and how to set up information technology?

So run Firefox and endeavour it, I hope it solves things for you too. Be aware that, unless you uninstall Trusteer, it volition commencement upwards once again if you do a restart, and y'all will accept to repeat this step. I am almost to send a report to Trusteer asking if they are aware of this and take information technology in paw.
If you don't accept Rapport, then peradventure a similar program which runs in the browser without being a plugin or extension may be to arraign. Good luck!

Give thanks you for your response. I had already come across these suggestions but they are not relevant to my problem as they relate to bug that occur in one case the flash plugin is running, in my case the problem was that the plugin would not run. However you have led me to the actual solution through the link to the flash troubleshooting folio which I had not seen before, and I'chiliad truly grateful to you for that.
In that location is mention there of the cyberbanking security programme TrusteerRapport causing problems with wink and I did have problems before with this program when Firefox updated to v.15 (though not with flash). I stopped Trusteer and my problem disappeared!
Again thank y'all for your involvement.

@JFFV - Well that was an annoying couple of hours. I installed the 64-fleck version, which was 1207.31 btw, and shortly afterwards restarting my calculator began to freeze up. I had to cold kicking it to get information technology going over again, but nothing would load, it froze once more, and I had to use my system recovery disc to restore it (fortunately a scheduled dorsum-up ran last night).
I uninstalled the old version of Trusteer, installed the 64-bit again, with the aforementioned upshot, catastrophe with a system paradigm restore. Needless to say I have uninstalled Trusteer altogether and run Ccleaner, and so everything is fine again.
I have emailed Trusteer iii times now and await their response, but I somehow doubtfulness I will bother with it again, unless they can convince me that the fault lies in my machine.
As a matter of interest, did yous upgrade to Win8, equally I did, or is your version a clean install?
